Why Isn't the HTML Showing Up Correctly on My Craigslist Ad?

If you've double-checked that your HTML is entered correctly on your Craigslist employment ad, but the images, etc. are still not showing up, odds are you don't have the paid Craigslist account needed to display advanced HTML ads.

Craigslist offers two services:

1. The Craigslist Free Market: You do not pay for ads, but you can't use pictures in the body of your ad. This means no Pro on the left side of your ad AND no blue Apply Now button. But, you CAN use very basic HTML formatting (bold, bullet points, font size, etc.), which is why we provide a separate HTML Ad template for the free market (see Intranet link). You can also use the "slideshow" feature of Craigslist, where you can upload 24 pictures that will appear as a little slideshow above the body of your employee ad, but again this is different than the embedded pictures in the true Full HTML version offered in paid markets.

2. Craigslist Paid Account:If you pay a fee for the employment ad, Craigslist allows you to use advanced HTML, which enables you to embed pictures AND the blue Apply Now button. This ad has shown amazing results compared to the free version.

So, the reason your ad might not reflect the code you entered is because the advanced HTML requires a paid account.
