How to Add Tax for Service Locations in Unowned Zip / Postal Codes

For locations in zips you don't own, you need to set the tax rate manually. Â To do this:

Go to the client's Account

Open their Service Location

Edit the Service Location

Enter the tax rate in the "State/Province Tax Override" field (enter it as a whole number, so 6% would be 6.0, NOT .06)

Save changes

After you have that, make sure the products/services on the series have the "Taxable?" option marked:

Go to client's Account

View Series

Edit Series

Click the "Taxable" checkbox next to all applicable Products and Services
