We strongly, strongly advise against using a non-integrated vendor. We understand it may seem more cost effective up front, but the additional overhead, room for error and possible security issues are a large hidden cost.Â
Â
We added a second vendor (Braintree) with good pricing and have also heard of owners having great success negotiating with X-Charge when they present proof of pricing.Â
Â
Our recommendation:Â
Â
1. Take your current bill and do the followingÂ
2. Multiple monthly sales volume * 2.35%Â
3. Multiply number of transactions in the month * $0.30Â
4. Add those together, then add $20Â
5. That would be your charge with vendor option 2 in cloud (Braintree)Â
6. Better, worse, or same?Â
Â
If better or same - it's a no brainer to go with this vendor.Â
Â
If worse, do this next:Â
Â
1. Call X-ChargeÂ
2. Tell them you are a MaidProÂ
3. Provide current billÂ
4. Ask them to beat or match it.Â
Â
From a daily task standpoint, there are a few things to consider in selecting working with a non-integrated processor.Â
Â
1. Where will credit cards be stored making sure to adhere to PCI compliance guidelines? We can't be sure what your network looks like, so this will likely mean bringing in a third party contractor to secure the network, or potentially paying a monthly fee for maintenance and/or the proper router configuration.Â
2. You will need to manually enter credit cards into a third party solution. We will not allow cards to be stored in Cloud as a note or otherwise.Â
3. Time. Completing jobs will take far more time if you are doing it in two places. You'll need to complete all jobs as cash in Cloud and process the cards elsewhereÂ
